OUR STORY
Hifumi Tea was born as an expression of our enduring friendship. Rooted in values we both hold dear, simplicity, depth, purity, and purpose, we welcome you to our hearts through our carefully selected 100% organic Japanese teas and matcha.


Our name, Hifumi, is drawn from the sacred Hifumi Norito, an ancient Japanese Shinto prayer associated with the Amanoiwato myth. When the sun goddess Amaterasu hid herself in a cave, casting the world into darkness, it was Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto who danced and chanted the Hifumi Norito to draw her out. This divine chant is said to expand the soul, cleanse the spirit, and restore light, a philosophy we’ve woven into every leaf we share.
Our teas are sourced from pristine, niche, high-altitude regions of Japan, untouched by the noise and pollutants of modern life. They are cultivated by humble farmers who view their craft as a calling; quiet custodians of the land whose passion can be tasted in every cup.
At Hifumi, we seek not just to grow as a brand, but to honour the hands and hearts that make it possible. By working directly with these farms, we support their expansion and ensure their artistry continues to nourish the world.
